This is a set of Pai Gow poker tiles, and before you ask, No, I don't know how to play this game. I understand it to be similar to Pai Gow poker with cards, but I do not know what 2, two-tile hands are better than other 2, two-tile hands. I also know that each play gets 4 tiles, which must be paired up to produce 2, two-tile sets. One high and one low. The white dragon tile moves from player to player to player as a marker to show who is next for the option to bank.
Anyway, I picked this up at a yard sale. It comes packed in a snap-closed, simulated alligator, vinyl covered, handled box along with a set of six miniature dice (the dice are cellephane wrapped and un-used). The inside of the box is labled Ying Fat Cheung Ivory & Ma-Jong, No. 103 Wellington St. H.K. I'm assuming Hong Hong because of all the Chinese characters that are also there.
Last, but not least, I found this 2 1/4" x 3" slip of paper at the bottom of the box. It appears to be a record sheet used to record the date and other relavent stuff about when this set was put into play at a casino. However, the only clue as to what casino is a person's name and employee number, and possibly the "TI-CA10" at the lower left corner.
I'm guessing Treasure Island. Any better guesses or a confirmation out there?
BTW-I spent $4.00. I hope it was not too much.
Thanks,
Jim Follis
