Re: My experience with (0) feedback bidders

I don't know how big a problem it is with low feedback bidders messing around with eBay auctions. Therefore I really do not understand your need for blocking such bids.

However, in my, personal, opinion, I get a sour feeling about your practice. It seems a bit unfair to me. I have a low enough feedback on eBay that I can still remember when I had a big goose egg next to my name. I am thankful that the sellers I dealt with didn't engage in such practices. Everyone has to start somewhere and if everyone starts to do as you discribe than many newbies will never get a feedback to build on. I think it is a chance you take when you post an auction. The important thing though is that if you hold the merchandise until payment is received and/or cleared, you still have your merchandise and can list it again. While I am not sure, I believe eBay will resolve the issue of fees and commissions that are assessed through auctions where you were to get burned by a new bidder. I know they have ways to allow you to relist and I seem to recall mention of crediting of fees. If you have specific experience with an individual that has stiffed you or sabotaged or otherwise interferred with your auctions than, by all means, you should and do have the right to block them. And I might add and emphasize file a complaint against that user. Even if the bidder is using an assumed name or other means to conceal their identity, I would think if they were enough of a problem with creating new names to interfere with auctions, eBay should have ways of investigating ISP info etc. and trying to block that individual from further use of the service.

I just think that it is unfair to simply assume that any new bidder with no or little feedback is not worthy of buying your item(s). I am sure there are plenty of people with lots of money who do not currently use eBay and may be discovering the amazing variety of things that can be found every day. I just don't see the overall value in forcing them to find a surrogate bidder or blocking them out of the process.

Just my opinion...
