Bob; I don't believe your illustration is a true "choken". I think the generally accepted term for a choken is something that was designed for both slot and table play ... usually with a metal ring around the circumference. The "choken" experiment was not too successful from what I hear. What you have shown is a ceramic type chip introduced by CHIPCO. I think their "hook" was that these style chips could be "recycled" ... that is, returned to CHIPCO after they were worn and they would remove the old artwork and replace it with new artwork on the reused ceramic disk. Don't think that idea went very far either.
