We do our best. We try to track 18,000 chips, as well as adding a few thousand new ones every year. It's a herculean task.

For the most part, I believe the values in TCR are an excellent guide for the collector. We've been made aware that our values for SOME Hard Rock chips are low, and we plan to correct that for the 10th edition. eBay is not the only source of our price monitoring, and dealer price lists may or may not reflect actual selling prices. There's no way for us to tell how many - if any - chips a dealer is selling at the prices listed. Price tages themselves don't establish values. Sales do.

As you're no doubt aware, since you seem to be current on Hard Rock auction prices realized, there are an awful lot of Hard Rock chips that auction for less than what our established dealers sell them for. And many that receive no bids at all.

The best thing you can do to help make sure that "The Chip Rack" accurately reflects chip values in an area you happen to be interested in, is to send Allan Myers or me an e-mail suggesting what value a specific chip should be, based on your experience and research, and giving us an idea how you arrived at your conclusion.
