Attention past Las Vegas visitors.....

I'm trying to trace this item.

Scanned below is the back and front of a name badge. It is made of a thin, light-weight metal (perhaps tin). There is a space for a persons name (on a slip of paper, or a Dymo label).

At first blush it appears to be a Pioneer Club badge because of the likeness of Vegas Vic. However, there is no indication that it is associated to the Pioneer Club. The writing across the top of the sun says, "FUN IN THE SUN". Across the tip of Nevada it says, "LAS VEGAS" and "NEVADA". At the bottom it says, "Hi Neighbor!" which of course is similar to Vegas Vic's, "Howdy Partner" greeting.

I can find no markings to indicate manufacturer or other attribution. Again, at first blush it appears to be a gift shop, put-your-own-name-in, toy badge, however, upon closer examination it appears that the badge is of a better quality. This is evident in that the there are two pinbacks present. Both are firmly welded to the badge and they work in opposite directions, i.e., they open on opposite ends. This will certainly improve the stability of the badge, but would create havoc with children (if it were a toy).

My question is.....Does anyone recognize what this badge was used for, and/or who or what issued it.

I'd very much appreciate any info or insight.

Thanks,

Jim Follis, on the Road to Slippery Slope (and I love it!).
