Selling in a set or singly....

A couple of days ago there was a thread about whether a "set" of chips should be sold together or singly. I'll direct your attention to a few auctions below... the first is a Hard Rock Barris car set, and the next three are individual auctions for 3 of the four chips comprising the set:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2106769719 currently at $92.00

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2106793416 currently at $10.50

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2106794469 currently at $10.50

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2106795069 currently at $10.07

I think this says that true "sets" should be sold as a set because collectors generally want to acquire them in a complete state. If I were selling a complete Hard Rock "set" however, I'd probably sell them individually... that would probably maximize the end result for the seller (there's a complete $5 set up now from Mr. Krueger... it'll be very interesting to see where that ends up. I'll try to do a post mortem on the auction since I track most of the higher value chips).
