Colorado Belle is now out of .50 cent chips.....

Last week I stopped by the Colorado Belle to ask about LE's for Memorial Day. They did not do any. I asked about their .50 cent chips (knowing that they used two different ones over theyears), wanting to buy some.

Now the .50 cent chips have been off the tables for quite some time, as the $2.50 is used in blackjack play as well as real half dollars. About a year ago they let be buy (from the cage) two of each style, but generally did not like doing that. I'm not sure why, but I felt it was because they did not want any coming back to the cage. Like they were trying to gather them all up.

Anyway, on this trip I asked and they said sure and asked me how many, as they pulled a partial rack from under the counter. I said $10 and when they were easger to do it, I asked how many I could get. The answer was $33 because they only had 66 chips left (the partial rack).

So I bought all of them. I asked if they had more, even in the vault and the answer was, No. The person I was dealing with was a Manager, so I believe the answer to be correct. The comment was made that they wanted to get rid of the .50 cent chips and they are not used on the tables.

Of the 66 chips, 2 were of the H&C variety and all the rest were Bud Jones 8-Suits. None them (I repeat NONE) were in very good condition. Many have multiple edge nicks.

For those who will be at the Convention, I will have some with me. For those who cannot attend the Convention I will make these available as traders on my trade list.

Thanks,

Jim Follis
