Anyone Heard of Geocaching???

I friend of mine emailed me today to tell me about an interesting web site. When I clicked on his link and started reading I thought "This could be an interesting way to trade chips". Then I saw the picture that is linked to below. There is a dimension to this game called a travel bug. You can attach these tags to an item and give instructions for it's travel or let the finder determine the next stop on the bugs journey. The bug can be stand alone or can be a "Hitch Hiker" as is the case in the following link. This link is to the information and photo page of one of these "Travel Bugs". I thought it might be interesting.

Anyways, for those who may not have heard of this, you take a GPS receiver and following posted clues and directions you go on a hike, dive, trip, drive, climb or whatever to locate the "Cache". There are many variations like having to find a sequence of caches to eventually locate the big cache or the cache may be offset from the GPS coordinates where you might find a clue that will require you to search the surounding area for the cache or one that was interesting was an elaborate puzzle that you had to solve to find the cache... There are many variations. From the reading that I have done on some zip codes that I am familiar with I have seen some interesting ways to swap collectables or get rid of some junk and get some exercise and entertainment in the process. If you find the cache, in most cases, you can take an item from the cache and then replace the item with a like item of equal or similar significance or value. Then you sign a log book that is in the cache and rehide it as you found it so the next treasurehunter has something to find. Some of these caches live on perpetually and have existed for almost 2 years which is when the game was first created. Some caches can be anything and others are of a specific nature. One, in my area, that I saw was cards. That could be any cards. Playing Cards, Membership Cards, Trading cards, business cards, I thought of Slot Club Cards? ... Anyways, like I said, Thought some out there might find it interesting.
