Lady Luck Casino

I will understand if you cannot post this one but I thought I'd share the story. We subscribe to the Las Vegas Advisor and had this year's Pocketbook of Values.

My husband and I have just returned from Las Vegas and we had the misfortune to visit the Lady Luck Casino. On Monday, May 20, 2002 (around 10:05 AM) we were downtown and went into the Lady Luck to buy some poker chips (I've recently begun to collect them). I remembered a coupon for the Lady Luck which was a for a "First Ace" at their black jack tables. My husband went to the first table that was open and asked the dealer (her nametag read "Adriana") if he could use the coupon. She said yes and he placed a $25 bet. She dealt herself a 2 and dealt my husband a 9 and then dealt herself a 3. At that point, a woman from the pit came running over and began yelling at the dealer and told my husband that "We don't accept these anymore". She ran and pulled an 8-1/2" x11" colored page with tiny print off a podium that was in the pit and said "See, it's posted right here." My husband told her that we never noticed the sign and furthermore the bet was made and cards were dealt. She then identified herself as the pit boss and said her word was final, but then brought over a heavyset man from the pit who was supposedly her boss. He said "Well, we don't accept these anymore." When my husband told him that the dealer had accepted the bet and the hand was already dealt, he said "Look, the bet never happened, here's your $25 back". ( I felt like I was in a Grade B movie at this point.) He too, said he was the final word. We then happened on the Slot Manager (her nametag said Grace) and told her what happened. She led us to an office and went inside and repeated what happened. A woman came out and said she'd try to help and called someone. The final word was that whomever she was trying to reach wasn't in and she couldn't do anything about it. I think it can be assumed that none of the excutives were interested. I have never heard of a casino anywhere reneaging on a bet. I would have written to the Nevada Gaming Commission but Lady Luck would probably say that they lost the videotape they're supposed to run on all tables. Needless to say, I didn't buy any Lady Luck chips. We have visited Las Vegas over 25 times and I have to say that it's the first time in my life that I've gone into a casino and not spent even a quarter.

Hell will definitely freeze over before I'll step into the Lady Luck Casino. I did send a similar email to Lady Luck. Bet they don't respond...
