Re: Pam, can you look this one up for me? Re: ELKO

That is a very common ashtray. I even saw one at a sale here today for $2. It is for sale in their gift shop for I think $1.99. It has been for at least 5 years. They must of made cases & never used them. I bought all they had once- about 10. Next trip they had out more. I wish they would do this with their old chips but they don't have any. They do sell old dice, smaller size with bull & all. All drilled. All kinds of variants you have to match up.

There were other little clubs located in the building & around the corner. 1957 was the major fire & the bull fell off the roof. When they rebuilt I believe at that time it was all Stockmen's & only their casino in there as it is today. They have a nice display by registration with newspaper articles & memorabilia & a great ashtray. I think it is the early 1st listed STO-20. A great one I need!
Elko had a lot going on in the 40's & even before. I am still researching but they possibly had way more than Vegas. All the big entertainment was brought there early on. I have more info. on this county that I hope to publish eventually. Yes another book! I am not sure if I will do small books for each county or wait & complete the state in a few years. I will list all the dates & games they had, etc & will note if chips are known. I plan to put pictures new & old of the buildings & copy old ads out of magazines etc. Gaming went back before legalization in 21. Elko county was real going by 26!

You "must have" the ashtray book. Order it right now. It is great & has lots of history like my book.
