Hey Paul,

I worked directly beneath Ronald Reagan in 1984!! LITERALLY!!!! I worked as a security guard at the Republican Natl Convention in Dallas. On the last night of the convention, my assignment was the staircase that led to the 3 network booths. It happened to be directly underneath the podium where Ronnie was giving his acceptance speech! I couldn't see him, I could only hear him. Just as he was ending his speech, my relief came and I took off to try and get a glimpse. I came within two feet of his limo, then started running down the hall to get a glimpse. Secret Service grabbed me and checked my credentials, then let me go. Had I stood still, he would have walked right past me, but I went for a better view and missed him altogether! Of course, I never thought to stand next to the limo! C'mon, Gene, give me a DUH!
