I suggest Chipology 101 as a start. If you follow the link below you will be whisked away to the CC & GTCC (The Club) Reference Section that includes a very informative primer on chips.

Chipology 101 was prepared as a educational Seminar Presentation during a previous CC & GTCC Convention, another one of which is in June!

Anyway, that is a good start, and then you can explore that site (as well as this one) and find many, many member site that contain some information that you are searching for.

While at the CC & GTCC site, be sure to explore the Membership page (if you don't already belong) and perhaps join our ranks. Also, be sure to tell us a little about yourself. Collecting interest(s), where you are from, etc., etc., etc.
