The Las Vegas Strip (aka Las Vegas Boulevard South) is technicially part of Clark County and NOT part of the City of Las Vegas. All of the services normally provided in a city by a city (i.e. Garbage Collection etc..) in this case is provided by Clark County. Also people who live in the Unincorporated areas vote for and are represented by the Clark County Board of Commissioners.
