Copied from Ed Hertel's site:

The famous Western Room was the sister club to the Studio Lounge in Galveston, Texas. Both of these clubs were located at 2216 Market on the third floor of the Turf Grill. The Western Room was owned by the Maceo brothers who ran the underworld in Galveston.

The decor of the Western Room was what one would expect - western. It was a favorite for the rich oil men from Houston and on any night, thousands were wagered on a single role of the dice.

The club was raided in June of 1957 but kept operating for awhile. The Maceo brothers died and the properties were passed to the Fertitta cousins.
