The scan does not do justice to this chip.

However, I do not think that this is either a brass or copper core. I had never taken my chip out of the flip until tonight. Although the chip appears to be made of copper, as you can see from the smaller scans, there is only a thin layer of copper colored material. Underneath it appears to be stainless steel?? One of the iserts looks normal, but the other three look as if the copper colored material had been BUFFED/FILED off???? The chip does not seem to be worn anywhere else and it looks like it has an injection mark.

My mind is wandering where I DO NOT want it to wander!! Does anyone have any ideas? Is this a NORMAL wear pattern??
