It has been painfully obvious that the board and I went through a period of disagreement regarding the brass core problem. Nevertheless, I support without reservation the decision announced in Nate's post.

I know this was a difficult decision for the board, as it was for me to recommend the action taken. I commend each member of the board -- which unanimously agreed on the decision -- for having the courage to put aside personal feelings and act decisively on this difficult issue.

I also hope that this report will encourage any other member who has information pertinent to the brass core problem to step forward and make that information known to the board.

In one respect, this is a sad day for our club and our hobby. On the other hand, I am proud that our board has demonstrated that it is capable of and willing to take action, even against a well-known and prominent member, when such action is appropriate. I believe this will be to the long-term benefit of the club and the hobby.
