Just got this post card and thought it was the one that matched the example in Doug Saito's Boss Collection Auction #1 Catalogue. No! Now we have post card variations to consider in our accumulations!

This image was taken within moments of the catalogue picture judging by the shadows. I thought the margin at the top of the picture was the defining variation but then I noticed that there was an auto parked behind the pickup at Doug's street corner. My card has a pedestrian LR also. Sigh, another entry on the list to collect.

For folks that missed Doug's notes on Hotel Elwell here's a short version: The Elwell family operated a furniture store in this building and converted it to a hotel in '40. A casino was added in '51. Nine slots, one each blackjack and roulette table. Closed in '65 and is now a parking structure for the Golden Nugget.
