Re: Does that mean...

Sorry to get into this thread so late ... but I attended the Boardwalk Bullies hockey game in A.C. last night and didn't get back to Brick until this morning. Very exciting game! Game was tied 2-2 at end of regulation game and stayed tied after five-minute sudden death O.T. period and lost in the 6-man "shootout" 2-1.

Al; One can't compare what happens at Las Vegas chip releases to how chip releases are handled in Atlantic City.

Virtually everyone of the people who were in line at the roulette table yesterday to purchase five Knife & Fork Inn chips, would have bought more chips had they been available.... including me. There was substantial demand for these chips ... more than the number of chips that were made available to the chip collecting community.

BriaN has described the distribution scene very accurately. Casino management disclosed minutes before the chips went on sale that only 120 chips would be available for public purchase and that 180 chips of the 300 manufactured were "locked-up" for the five restaurant owners and some "preferred players".

I was fortunate to have friends purchase additional chips for me, like Ann McCurdy, who didn't buy the limit of five. Thanks to Ann ... I was able to get a few extra chips that I would not have gotten ... so a few more of my subscribers will now be able to purchase a chip they would not have been able to if not for Ann McCurdy's gracious offer to me.

Also, Tommy and Barbara Thompson usually get chips for me as well when purchases are limited. As luck would have it, they left for Las Vegas early yesterday morning and could not be in the line at 11 a.m. On the other hand, if they (and others) were in line, Perhaps the five per person would have been reduced to four per person... so it winds up the same (for me).

BTW: I wound up 20 chips short to satisfy my subscription service demand ... but I was happy to have gotten the number of chips I did... so I'm not complaining ... although I too question why 60% of the total number of chips manufactered were "locked up" for non-attendees.

Al; if you were a devoted A.C. chip collector and signed up for my subscription service and will not receive this chip because 60% of this issue was held back; I'm sure you might not be so blase' about our little chip problem we had here in A.C. yesterday.

BTW: All of my on-line subscribers should have received a copy of my October A.C. e-Newsletter that was emailed earlier this morning explaining in detail what happened yesterday... and how I'm handling the subsequent distribution as a NIS dealer.
