MGM Mirage appoints new executives

MGM MIRAGE Announces New Executive Appointments

LAS VEGAS, Oct. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- In moves intended to strengthen the development team at MGM MIRAGE (NYSE: MGG) , several new executive appointments were announced today and will become effective December 1.

Scott Snow will become Executive Vice President of MGM MIRAGE Development. He currently serves as President and Chief Operating Officer of MGM Grand Detroit Casino.

In his new role, Mr. Snow's responsibilities will include overseeing development and construction of a permanent casino-hotel facility in Detroit in addition to seeking new opportunities for the Company in the U.S. and abroad. He will be based in Las Vegas and will report to Ken Rosevear, President of MGM MIRAGE Development. Mr. Snow joined the Company in 1997 as Vice President of Finance and Treasurer for New York-New York Hotel and Casino. He joined the gaming industry in 1989 with Aztar Corporation and was previously a Senior Auditor with Coopers & Lybrand. Mr. Snow holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Utah University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

George Boyer has been named the new President and Chief Operating Officer for MGM Grand Detroit. Mr. Boyer currently serves as President and Chief Operating Officer of the Primm Valley Resorts, a position to which he was named in 2000.

Mr. Boyer joined the MGM Grand Las Vegas in 1995 and was promoted to Senior Vice President of National Marketing in 1998. In 1999 he was promoted to Senior Vice President of Slot Operations and the Race and Sports Book. His experience in the gaming industry began at Caesars World in Atlantic City in 1986. Prior to joining the industry, Mr. Boyer held audit positions with the Philadelphia Stock Exchange and the United States General Accounting Office. He holds a Masters in Business Administration and Bachelor of Science degrees from Wagner College of New York and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Renee West has been named President and Chief Operating Officer for Primm Valley Resorts. Ms. West currently serves as Vice President of Human Resources for Primm Valley Resorts, a position she has held since 2000.

Prior to joining the Company, Ms. West held senior training and employee development roles at both Caesars Palace and Station Casinos. She also served as Vice President of Product and Service Delivery for Rapport Leadership International and provided strategic planning and organizational development services for MGM Grand Inc., Stations Casinos, Caesars Tahoe, Southwest Gaming, Phelps Dodge Mining, Andronico's Foods, Beazer Homes, Christopher Homes, Summerlin Hospital, among others.
