But to answer your question ... generally speaking, obverse/reverse usually pertains to tokens or medals. Usally if a date is present, that will be the obverse. If there is mostly text on one side, that will usually be the reverse. The side with the predominant artwork on it generally is accepted to be the obverse. OF course there will be occassional exceptions. If one thinks of a heads/tails on coins; casino tokens and medals pretty much follow the same format.
