As an ecommerce site co-owner I know what you're going through. We deal with copywrited information and must have releases signed by the company's we represent to use their images or products. Though I am not sure it applies here due to ownership of the chips that are in question. I think Gene will be able to help there. When dealing with a company that has not copywrited their information, our website's clause covers us. Written by our attorney it basically states that "we are in no way affiliated with the companies we represent acting as a go between" blah blah blah. I also would not take them seriously until you see a "cease and desist" order as you do not know if this person who wrote you has the authority for that type of request.
