Re: Gaming Question
In Response To: Gaming Question ()

I actually just started to play a few weeks ago at pokerroom.com. They have hold-em only and the games range from $1-$2 to $20-$40, I think. This is strictly a recreational thing for me… it’s very relaxing and you can multitask when sitting at your desk in your family room, which I find very appealing… I think you’ve probably experienced folding 20 or 30 consecutive hands in a live poker room. Not my idea of an exciting evening. I only bought in for $100 and I have about $180 right now… the Fates have been with me so far.

Here’s what I think about on-line gambling in general:

Cheating in on-line poker rooms? Absolutely! Without a doubt… I know someone whose son does it. On a $1-$2 table or $3-$6? I don’t think you have to worry about cheating there.

Blackjack, roulette, craps, slots, etc? No way in the world. I wouldn’t trust these guys as far as I could throw them.

Low stakes poker, though, I find very relaxing. You can watch the news or listen to music while you’re playing. I believe if you’re approaching on-line gaming as anything but recreation, you’re going to be in for a rude awakening.
