The Scarce Caesars Palace 50c Token

I've known there was a 1971 issue Caesars 50c token since Janice had one on her big list of Nevada tokens. However, I have not found one in several years of looking. A couple of weeks ago, I won this necklace and pendant on eBay and now I at least know what the piece looks like. Below it is the 1967 Franklin Mint issue half that is relatively easy to acquire.

Can anyone help me find the '71 in it's original state? Doesn't have to be uncirculated but need it not drilled or soldered into jewelry.

This also raises an interesting question of why the half token was produced so late. I understood that the authorization to use private 50c tokens was rescinded shortly after the '67 tokens were delivered. Is it possible the 71's were never intended for play? By the way, there is an indecipherable mintmark on the token. Janice lists this as a Wellings Mint product.
