New TN illegal ID and incredible picture

I appologize for the size of the picture ahead of time but this is how I got it and I tried everytihing I could to make it smaller. Just be glad I got it down from the original 600K bits of information. So here is the story. The guy on the left is Carlton V. French and on the right is Sgt. Jimmy Phelps. Carlton is now 91 years old and I received the photo from his son and have permission to use it. On Aug 18, 1940 the police raided two illegal casinos in Jackson, TN. They were located at 110 1/2 and 207 1/2 N. Market St. Two of the operators, Willie H. Fortune and Garland Dean were arrested. I was not able to find out today what was at those two locations but there is some confusion about the address of the Old Settlers Club (which was run by our friend Nolan H Dunn). Some places the address is listed as 1101 1/2 N. Market and other places it is 110 1/2 N. Market. I think 1101 is the correct address. I will confirm what was at both addresses as soon as I can. In any case the photo is fantastic. Notice that the craps layout is considerable different than a current layout and I think that the payouts are less. (You get 7 for one on any 7 instead of 7 to 1.) Notice at the bottom of the photo are three boxes with the chips, dice and cards in them. The box in the middle (on the original huge scan) rather clearly shows a grey chip with the letters FM on it. It just so happens that I found a bunch of Grey FM Diamond mold chips in a Memphis antique mall a few years ago. Memphis is just a short drive down the freeway from Jackson and I am convinced that these are the same chips. I couldn't figure out how to post two pictures so I will post a picture of the chip below. Stay tuned boys and girls there is more Tennessee history coming.
