Here is your answer Victor.....
In Response To: Re: Older L/E chips on ebay ()

These Cool Bird chips were released as numbered sets, with 12 chips in the set. Evidently the eBay seller is missing one of the chips, the one that depicts Cool Bird in a train conductor's uniform (costume).

I noticed that all 11 chips were serial numbered as 126, and that one appears gone.

Although this set used Cool Bird as the central theme, these are not the only chips from Flamingo Laughlin that use Cool Bird. In fact, Cool Bird is on the 1997 COTY winner, the "I'm A Chipper" chip. That same chip pays tribute to the Nevada Gold Museum (the precursor name of the Casino Legends Hall of Fame, which is now in the Tropicana) while it was at the Flamingo Laughlin. The Gold Museum is depicetd on only one side of the chip. The reverse commemorates Labor Day.

That chip was needed for the "Collection Project" and was aptly donated by the curator, Steven Cutler (Thanks again Steve).

Cool Bird has also appeared on other Flamingo Laughlin chips, to include roulettes and Sic Bo. He is also used as the "face" characters of Flamingo Laughlin cards.

I always recommend that every collector visit every casino cage every time they walk into a casino, because you never know what you might end up with.

Just about a month ago I went on a chip run with Ralph Myers to Laughlin. We both went to the same cage window and asked if they had any new LE's. The answer was, No. We asked if they had any Labor Day/I'm a Chipper LE's. They said, What? We were just about to leave when I asked as an after thought, do you have any complete sets of any of your chip-sets? The cashier said, let me check.

She came back with a used and mis-matched Civil War set and an uncirculated, matched, Cool Bird set. I was shocked! I frequent that place 4 - 6 times a year and always stop by and ask that same question, and always get a no answer in reply....

Except this time. Sure is a neat matched set, especially at face value.

Remember, always ask. The worst they can say is No, and even then, it may be a wrong answer!
