Re: TED BINION'S Chips?

But for a coin, it actually makes some sense to protect it from contact, or corrosion, while making it available to hold (somewhat) and view. Casino chips don't tarnish. Letting a friend hold one, won't degrade it or harm the finish. Casino chips are durable and made to be held.

On the other hand slabbing has been detrimental for collectors of coins (and other items) because of the manipulation of grading, i.e. re-slabbing, and artificial value enhanced by sticking a coin in plastic. (this is why I only collect cents and nickels now, for FUN)

Most of the people here have seen and learned from the problems that turned other hobbies into industries.

Now the next question is, what about the casino chips that were found in Ted Binions workshop and garage? Will they hit the market or go back to the casino. It seems like a bunch of older Horseshoe chips have surfaced since his murder?
