Compaq makes things right

Well-I recieved a replacement hard drive for my compaq laptop. But they wouldnt send me a new monitor screen. It seems they have to do it themselves-even though i am capable myself.

heres the good part...for all the continued problems i have had, they have agreed to upgrade my 15 GIG hard drive to a 30 GIG hard drive (No Charge) they will also install a CD writer into the switchable bay (no charge) and install all software as well. This unit has a bay that you can remove one drive and replace it with another with the flip of a button. It came with a DVD and floppy. Now-i will have a CD writer as well.

They have also agreed to let me keep the new 15 GIG hard drive to use as a back up just in case the new 30 GIG hard drive vaporizes like the last two.

They overnight aired me a box and label and it was picked up today... being delivered to compaq's bigshot technical support suvervisor/customer service/case escalation team case manager/guru and is supposed to be done same day and overnighted back to me.

So...as much as they laptop has been a total lemon, it seems that when one talks to the big dogs, one can get action. especially when one comments on what an interesting article my "plight" would make in PC Magazine.

Stay tuned later this week for the exciting conclusion of "as The Laptop Turns"... same chip-channel... same chip-time
