Sam,

Slabbing is a process by which a collectible is graded by a supposedly independent expert and encased in a secure case with the assigned grade. The idea is that less knowledgable collectors won't be taken advantage because the grade has be set by some independent expert. Slabbing is common in coins and sportscards.

Unlike coins casino chips have no commonly accepted grading standard. Further the typical grading systems used by collectors rae relatively simple (unlike with coins).

Many of us object to the introduction of slabbing to our hobby. We feel it is inherently dishonest and will only lead to artificially inflated prices. I have repeatedly asked the slabbers
