.... "AU58" is shorthand for coin lingo "About Uncirculated" and means not quite uncirculated. AU grades run from AU50 to AU59 in the coin hobby. Uncirculated grades begin at BU60 and run through BU70. BU 70 would be considered perfection. This is a prime example why we don't need numerical grading in our hobby (in my opinion). Five grades of chips should be more than enough to describe the range of casino chips since we don't deal with lustre and strike as do coin collectors.

This post is an attempt to educate those who are not familiar with the terms that Pete has questioned .... so hold up on sending your negative, holier-than-thou, emails please.
