Re: Question about pricing for eBay auction

Hi Rick:

I think $12.50 is a fair price for the chip and I am sure you will eventually find a buyer who needs the chip for his/her collection. I would buy the chip if I needed it, but I have plenty. I have to share a story because every time I see the Dennis Miller DI chip, I think about it. Several years ago, when I was somewhat new to chip collecting, my mom, who lives in Phoenix, went to Las Vegas and stayed at the Desert Inn. I told her to pick me up a FEW Desert Inn chips if she had a chance and I would send her the money. I was in college at the time and had limited funds to spend on my hobby interests. When she returned, she promptly called and was excited to tell me she picked up $750 worth of Desert Inn chips on her trip. At the time, $750 was a small fortune to a college student. Looking back, I'm happy she did and I'm glad I scraped up the money to pay for them since she picked up many $25 Don Rickles, $25 Tony Bennett, $5 Dennis Miller, $5 Temptations, and $5 Anniversary chips in uncirculated condition because they were all released around the same time when she was there. After that, I told her not to do me any more favors on her Las Vegas trips. I'm still not sure what she was thinking at the time, but I will ask her later on in life! vbg
