Re: Are you a Pathological Liar?

Gene, You ask a reasonable question, so I will briefly respond. Jerry had in effect, 2 "collections": His outstanding personal set where he tried to get one chip of everything and a hoard of more common chips in which he had 1 or more boxes. What I failed to make clear is that Jerry gave us a general idea of the rarity of many chips without telling us exactly how many HE HAD. In other words, Jerry would tell us that he knew there were several boxes of this chip, but he didn't say "I have exactly 567 of these chips". The difference is that he gave us an estimate rather than an exact accounting. I think this was fine, because chips in the rarity range of less than R-5 are usually not in dispute anyway. The more rare a chip is, the more possible it is to be accurate in counting them. That's why we spent most of our time with Jerry trying to get precise info on the rarer chips because in reality, we did not have unlimited time to spend with him. Also, keep something else in mind: It's not like Jerry had all the chips to the exclusion of everyone else! He had a lot of chips, but he was just one collector - we talked to many, many collectors and that is the main point I was trying to make.
