Chips at face list

We have, at this point, 16 people who have committed themselves to selling newly issued chips at face value plus $1.00 postage or more if actual. They are (in order of response:)

Jim Fredrickson

David Feavel

Wayne Murphy

Pete Sanders

Brian Okiec

Dick Bartley

Dick Staeffler

Scott Blackburn

Ross S. Poppel

Jim Essig

Bob Stoops

David Moore

Michael Richter

Rich Figarotta

Marty Robbins

Paul A. Sax

At this point, I would like to reiterate our mutual objective.

I have found out during the 4 years I have been collecting chips that the cheapest way to buy these clay objects is to purchase them at face value (no, I am not a rocket scientist. vbg) and the best way to do that is to reciprocate equally with others.

I estimate that I have saved thousands of dollars over the years by practicing what I preach. I guarantee you that if I charged a premium to the chips I have sold, I would not come anywhere close to what I have saved by not paying somone else a premium.

My theory is that since I am traveling to a casino anyway to get chips for myself, it does not (in most cases) involve any more work to get 1 chip as it does to get a half dozen or a dozen or so.

In addition, I personally get pleasure in obtaining chips for others. It is not, as many consider "work" but but a delight to see others obtain additions to their collection.

Please remember, I am emphatically stressing the issue that my intention is not to compete or take away business from the new chip services whose emphasis is providing subscriber such as myself to new issued chips in each of their areas.

The new chip services must avail themselves at any day of the week and any time of day in order to satisfy their clients. It is a business and they deserve a just compensation for there service.

We, on the other hand, are collectors who mostly live in remote places or at least not down the street from a bunch of casino's that issue a new chip at the drop of a hat. We get our chips at our convenience and not beholding to anyone.

With all this in mind and remember we are talking about newly issued chips only, that we are committing ourselves to the same objective. If any one wants to sell on Ebay, they are welcome to do so. Anytime anyone wants to have their name erased from the list, that is fine as well.

If anyone else wants to add their name, that is fine also. I know many other are practicing this policy on their own without "signing up." Just look at a few post below this one.

Oh yes, one more very important fact I forgot to mention. No one is committed to purchasing a lot of chips for others, or even none, if that is your wish. It can become quite an outlay of money for some if too many people are requesting chips.

I have changed my policy recently to accepting requests only for chips when I know I am going for a particular item instead of just buying up a bunch and keeping them in inventory.

An example is the chip I have scanned below. It is the 5th annual Pow-Wow chip from Spotlight 29, an indian casino in Indio, Ca. I was going last week, but something came along and I won't be going until next week or maybe a week or two later. In any case, I will be picking up chips for anyone requesting it now. I still have the names of people wanting the new Jackson Indian Casino 15th anniversary chip, but haven't gotten out there as yet.

Everyone is free to conduct their trading or sales in any manner they feel appropriate. I, for one, will sell my newly acquired chips for face to people who do the same for me. For the others, I sell to them for the same price they sell to me (and that includes excessive postage and handling.)
