I have a few of these sets for sale or trade. $48 s/h included or trade for equal (+/-) catalog value AC or NV chips that I want (remember I do not NEED anything )
The story on these chips goes something like this. Resorts gave these to patrons who had "qualifying" play during the week. They were released one chip per week for 21 weeks. A limited number of these freebie chips were supposed to be worth $5000 (?) I am not sure how these special winning chips were marked or designated during the promotion. When the patrons got them and saw that they did not have one of the "winning" chips many tossed them in the trash can. I have been told that many of the first chip in the series were hauled to the landfill BEFORE most AC chippers caught on to the concept of dumpster diving. Consequently the first chip marked 1978 is the most difficult to obtain. The 22nd chip in the scan at the bottom is only shown to depict the common reverse design.
