Today at lunch ...

I live on Long Island about a mile from the bay inside the Rockaway inlet to the Atlantic Ocean. We are less than 5 miles from JFK airport. I frequently have lunch in Bay Park right on the water. The park is in one of the JFK flight patterns, including planes coming in from Europe. Today I saw for the first time in over a year, an SST coming in for a landing. It is spectactular to see. The slim plane approaches the airport with its nose up, all other planes are level to the ground at this point in the approach. Whenever one comes in, everyone stops what they are doing to watch this majestic bird. I'm glad they are flying again and I'm glad that JFK is open for business. As the SST disappeared over the trees, a 747 came into view to be the next to land. It would be nice to get back to business as usual.
