No sane society wants war, nor do they want the loss of human life.
Unfortunately the reality is that innocent people died in all wars.
Your nephew is fighting in a war that we neither wanted nor started.
Perhaps he can find comfort in knowing he is helping to preserve democracy and freedom and hopefully delivering a blow that may as some point put a halt to terrorism.

It is unfortunate that the people we are fighting have put no value on life. This was demonstrated by the senseless killing of thousands here in America. NONE of those people were combatants.
