I will not "spoil" your two question quiz. However,I would like to add a little more information.

I attended the Silverbird liquidation auction. I stood next to Jackie and Michael Gaughnan who intended upon bidding for slot machines. I enjoyed watching the "action" but that's another story maybe I will write about at a later time.

What I wanted to inform everyone about was that when the auction started the house chips had long been previously sold in a private deal. The Silverbird tokens remained.When it came time to auction the first bag of tokens I began to laugh to myself for what was about to happen. The first bag was sold for pennies on the dollar and out the door it went.So did the second, third and forth bag.

After, the fifth bag was being placed near the auctioneer it finally dawned on EVERYONE - Hey!!! These tokens can be used in any slot machine on the strip. Maybe we better not sell them. A little late - but you should have looked at the
faces of everyone present.A very funny sight.

For years tokens from the Silverbird were found in the count rooms of the many strip casinos and removed. Jack Campbell who was the Senior Vice President and Treasuer of the old MGM did not find the incident funny ---- I did! Oh Boy! What I wouldn't give for the old days. Best, Jim
