Re: Harrahs Encased Dollar
In Response To: Harrahs Encased Dollar ()

Hi Don. I posted a scan of several of my Casino Encased Dollars last Spring. Your valuation of $50-$100 is right on the mark. The Harrah's piece is offered occassionally on eBay. The last one I saw went for just over $50. I believe they were originally keychains, although the loop (on mine at least) seems kind of weak for that. Others in the same style are known from: Thunderbird Hotel & Hotel Last Frontier. Gene Trimble told me he has one from Vegas World. Also known in that style are generic souviner pieces: "Howdy Podner / Las Vegas" & "Las Vegas / Golden Strip". Another variety is with the dollar completely encased in plastic. Similar to an airtight chip holder. I know of this type from Harrah's & Wagon Wheel Saloon.
