Allan asked me whether I thought the new $5 warranted a new TCR entry. Here is an old $5 that's been cleaned, next to the new $5. Although it doesn't show well in the scan, the new $5's inlay has more texture. The brown printing is lighter and looks to be below the surface on the new $5, while it looks more like it's printed on the surface on the old $5.

But the most noticable difference, aside from condition, is the "5" itself. It definitely looks thicker to me.
