Palace Station NCV chips.

Several weeks ago, Gene Trimble posted about a Palace Station 100 NCV that is not in the TCR, and that there are two version (one with a serial number and one without).

I would like to point out that the same holds true for their NCV 25 that uses the same bacarrat sized chip. I have an example of each with and without a serial number. (No scan, scanner is broke.) Both are green with yellow inserts and four sets of 3 yellow squares on the edge where the green shows.

I also have several, NCV 5's, all of which are without a serial number, so I do not know if there is a serial number version. They are red with four blue inserts and four sets of 3 blue dots on the edge where the red shows.

It is also interesting to note that the insert orintation (to the inlay) for all the non-serial numbered chips is at the 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock positions. For serial numbered chips, the inserts are at the 1:30, 4:30, 7:30 and 10:30 positions. (For people with digital watches and the above makes no sense, try 360/0, 90, 180 and 270 degree marks for non-serial numbered chips, and 45, 135, 225 and 315 degree marks for serial numbered chips.) vbg

This arrangement keeps the serial number off the inserts.

I want to thank Jim Baker for access to these chips. Thanks Jim,

Jim Follis
