Time to check those flight reservations

Even if the airline website does not show a flight as being cancelled you should call the airline.

I had purchased tickets to fly Continental from Newark to Memphis to attend the Tunica show.

After flights resumed I checked Continental's website which announced flight cancellations and discontinuances.

My flights were not listed as discontinued, but everyday the flight was cancelled (you could only see cancellations 1 day in advance).

So I finally called the airline to check, the flight has been discontinued (they have eliminated all non-stop flights from Newark to Memphis but you can still travel with a stop-over).

I am convinced the real reason the airline industry is going down the tubes is not because of the shut down but because of poor customer service before and after.

I'm not complaining so much about the flight being cancelled as I am about the airline not taking steps to notify passengers.

Although they list discontinued flights on the website . . . they are not apparently listing them all. They have my email address and my actual address, but not a word.

I do not know whether I am still going to make the trip, but at least now I know that if I am going I need to make new arrangements.
