Another story

I just got off of the phone with my cousin, who along with my aunt, sailed from NYC on the Carnival Victory on 9-8-01. She had never been to NYC and describes her first view of the harbor, the Statue of Liberty and the WTC with great awe. She understandably expected to end her cruise with that same awesome skyline..... I look forward to seeing the pictures that she took on that Saturday.
As you would expect, many, many of the passengers were from NYC. A couple at the table next to theirs lost a son in the WTC.
They cruised in cirles for many hours as they were not sure that they would be allowed to dock in Nova Scotia. A cabin by cabin search was also conducted.
They did not return to NYC, but rather discharged the passengers in Boston.
As a credit to Carnival Cruise Lines, ship to shore calls on both Tuesday and Thursday were at no charge.
Needless to say, after Tuesday morning, those on the ship ran the same emotional gamut as the rest of the country.
On a side note, my aunt was dealt a straight flush while playing Carribbean Stud--and the dealer also qualified with a pair of Aces.
