Glad to see you get signed up for the club and the chapter Dick, welcome. While The List is featured prominently at SlabFree.com, the chapter and The List are really seperate entites. First it became apparent that the hobby was being targeted for entry by the grading industry around the end of 2000. As a reaction to this perceived threat, a pledge was formulated, The List as it appears now. Forgive me, I have an idea who wrote it, but I don't want to give credit to the wrong person so I'll let someone else provide the authors name. Since we enjoy lots of spirited and cogent discussion here on TheChipBoard, some folks felt that they didn't want to put their name on the pledge but they also didn't want to own slabbed chips and they wanted to participate in another way in keeping the chip collecting hobby slabfree. This lead to the formation of the SlabFree chapter. Anyone is welcome to sign the pledge or join the chapter or do both or do neither.
