So we've given blood - or made an appointment to do so...
We have made donations and hugged our families...
We have wept and raged and shared our feelings of terrible horror...
WHAT ELSE CAN WE DO??

The Red Cross is suggesting a simple, but strong symbol of unity:

Tie a RED ribbon to your car antennae
Place a RED ribbon on your front door.

and HANG YOUR AMERICAN FLAG PROUDLY if you haven't.
The house I am living doesn't have a flag stand/ holder - so I am going out now to buy one.

I had to only go as far as my Christmas decorations to participate in the Red Cross' subtle, but strong visual suggestion to display my grief and support of others for the effects of these tragic events.
