An old dog's view of New yorkers

They say you can take the boy out of New York, but you can't take New York out of the boy. Having spent more than 69 years of my life in New York , from the crowded streets of Brooklyn to the space and comfort of Westchester, I can tell you I understand the kind of people New Yorkers are. I may have moved to Ct. to be near my grandchildren, but the spirit of my being will always be in and with New York. New Yorkers are a tough, tough lot who can take it and dish it out as well. They will not hang their heads in dispair. They will not shake in fear or alter their lives. They took the Bastards' best shot and they are not down for the count. They will join hands and help, and work, and mourn, and honor their dead and their heros, and then rebuild and go forward with their chins thrust forward. They will trust their Government to exact the due measure of retribution from these cowards and those who aided and comforted them. Frank said it best. If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere. New Yorkers will make it, as will our Country, our freedom, and our way of life.

One other thought. Having lived thru World War 11, I can tell you that there is now evident in this country, a spirit of unity of purpose and patriotism, that was last manifested during that war. We did not have it for Korea, or Vietnam, or Granada, or the Gulf War. But it is here now, I see it and feel it. The Bastards have wounded us, but they have also reminded us of who, and what we are, and for that they will rue the day.
Just an old dog's opinion.
