Update from NY Metro

The devastation is contained in lower Manhattan. My cousin who lives about 6 miles away on the east side of Manhattan says that life is pretty much normal, except that there is no traffic. No cars, no planes, no boats, except for the emergency vehicles.

I am now hearing of a possible victim. My neighbor is a NYC fireman, he was just ending his shift when the tragedy struck and was turned around and sent to the scene. He has been on the job now for 24+ hours. He is OK. But a buddy, someone that I know .. he helped put up the extension to my house 2 years ago ... is one of the fireman that is missing. There are over 200 fireman missing and presumed dead, as well as 78 police officers. These are the men who were first on the scene to help rescue the survivors. I am told that the Middle Eastern terrorists like to set off explosions in pairs. The 2nd one to get the rescuers.

I hope the U.S. has the resolve to eliminate everyone necessary to assure us that this will not happen again.

You can help. Donate blood, where ever you are. Give some money to the Red Cross or to other groups that are helping those cope with the disaster. Finally say a prayer, ask for understanding and hope for those who have been effected by this tragedy.
