Fort McDowell Questions???

Hey AZ collectors... What the heck is a BAJA anyway???? (besides a place or thing to go 4-wheeling??) I recently learned that the CB on the Cocopah chips stands for Cocopah Bingo ~~ but why did FT MCD use "baja". Am just curious if anyone knows.

On numerous trips to Fort McDowell (home of the lousiest Cheapcos in the nation sad ) - I have never been able to acquire Baja or FMC chips at the casino ~~ and without over-plugging Luke's auction since I'm not getting a commission vbg ~~ the Baja chip is a nice acquistion for the AZ/ Indian collector. grin

Calling it a NCV is a "safe" call - but I believe it was actually used as a fractional. The Baja chip was replaced by the .50c FMC chip - which was replaced by the current unicorn mold.

Can anyone confirm it's original use/ value/ meaning or reason for using "baja"?
