I feel like Archie!!!

He has to catch up every week. ...wait a minute, didn't he just buy a 'puter for the AC suite?

Doing some catching up, and not necessarily in the order that events have occurred since my last post here. If you don't want to read a parcel of opinions but might want to see what was a personal dream come true, wait for the photo to load at the bottom of the page. I work part-time as a drag racing reporter, and had the privilege of driving a living legend-current top fuel Funny Car champion- down the drag strip at Indianapolis Raceway Park Monday morning, in the pre-race ceremonies. Hey Katie, a 2002 Camaro convertible is a pretty cool car (got to test one out the last day of the race but had to leave it at the airport the next morning.) Keep the Worbird, but think about putting one of these in your garage!

John Mass...thinking out loud is okay. Putting it into print isn't always a good idea. Actually, it usually isn't a good idea if you don't think twice.

Charlie Smorse grin, if you think that buying chips at Vacation Village was an unpleasant experience, spend a night there! I did in April of this year. I had an early flight out of Vegas after the NHRA event, and wanted a quick shot to the airport without having to walk a mile with my luggage to find my car, nor did I want to stand and wait while the valet lost my car and made me miss the flight. That did happen to me (the valet lost my car and I missed a flight) during an earlier stay in Vegas, but I'd park and sleep in the rental car at a truck stop and rent a shower in the morning before I'd stay at VV again. It was the worst room I've ever stayed in, and I've stayed in some real dumps.

Mark Scott of Sahara Coins doesn't know what he's talking about when he talks about casino chips. I don't care about how many he has. If he doesn't know what to do with them, here's a clue. Cash in what you can. Chip collecting isn't a hobby for you.

Given that he has stated that he has investors that trust him so implicitly that they'd give him $50,000 and not look at what they bought for ten years, would he include a slabbed casino chip in the package??? I don't think so.

...nor is he credible when expressing opinions about the people involved in the effort to keep slabbing out of this hobby. Call someone a hypocrite for belonging to an organized group of people against the intrusion of unknown/unexplained grading systems, and unknown "experts" doing the grading. Then he promotes third party grading as being a level of security. His third party people have already been called to the carpet about credentials to offer such a service. There are none, but since the grader's label is on the slab, it's good. ...for what? Not a damn thing!

The new BOD vote about slabbing? It was a move in the right direction, but it didn't go far enough. If this is it, I'm sorry, but it isn't enough. Let the slabbers pick the pockets of unknowing investors in their stores, but don't allow or endorse it in any way at our convention or in our club magazine.

Two races left. I can't wait! There's nothing better than getting paid to have fun!
