Re: Used Blackjack Felts
In Response To: Question ()

Thanks for posting this question. I have posted similar questions in the past about the same question and haven't gotten a response. I guess my questions got lost in the flow of other subjects.

I got a Roulette Felt on eBay. When I received it I noticed handwriting on it indicating that it may have been installed but never played. No burns, stains etc. It does have a jagged edge and staple holes. It appears that it was installed and found to not fit the table correctly. It was too narrow, according to the notation. Also the writing, which was on the backing, indicated that the font for the numbers was the wrong style.

I also have a Blackjack felt that I got from LV, last time I was there. I happened to be playing BJ late at night when the Boss came up to us and told us that our table was going to be closed in about an hour. A friend and I noticed that they were changing the layouts on some tables and figured that was why they wanted to close our table. We asked the Boss what they did with the old felt and if they gave them away. He said he didn't know and would check. He went over to the upholsterers, (dealers that we had earlier incidentally) and asked them He came back and said give them an hour and he will have a couple for us. I don't want to mention exactly where because I don't want to cause them any hastle but I will offer this sugggestion. If you can, play at night and keep an eye out for when they change the felts. Some casinos do it regularly whether the layouts need it or not. Keeps things looking nice. Others will play their layouts to death.

In closing, I would like to say that, Next to some at HR, the best felt I have ever seen is Luxor. I would love to get one. Anyone know of any out there or where I can inquire for one. I have thought of sending Luxor a letter w/self addressed envelope for reply. I would mention that I would be willing to pay shipping costs.

Any thoughts? Thanks,

Bill Schelhas
