Something I just learned...probably John Benedict and other ivory collectors long knew. In the west the faro dealers carried their own faro boxes (I knew that and have one] but the favorite "logo" was a tiger which they would have on their boxes and on their chips! Also, saloons that dealt faro would sometimes have signs with a tiger on them. [I didn't know these facts]. Thus, my two tiger ivory chips that I got from John B. were probably (possibly?] from old faro sets.
