MGM's plans for their Boardwalk location, east of Showboat, was put on hold because they had not completed purchasing parcels from individual property owners who were holding out for exhorbitant sums of money. The announcement yesterday had to do with their property in the Marina area, next to where Borgota is currently under construction (about 8 floors of steel on Borgota have already been erected).

My understanding is that the Boardwalk site has now been fully aquired, but MGM said they have no immediate plans to develop it yet and that they would not consider constructing two new sites at the same time. With the Tunnel now opened, look for increased construction activity in the Marina area.
